STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) is a protocol to prevent infinite loops.
In order to avoid a loop when the switch is first turned on or a client is connected to the switch, the port is activated after 15 seconds of listening - 15 seconds of learning in its default settings, i.e. 30 seconds in total.
To eliminate this waste of time, the "spanning-tree portfast" command is used.
If desired, you can apply this command to the ports of the switches individually or collectively.
You can configure it as follows to apply it to the desired ports.
teknosos(config)#interface range gi1/0/1-10
teknosos(config-if)#spanning-tree portfast
Or you can apply it to all ports with just one command.
teknosos(config)#spanning-tree portfast default
However, this is not recommended. There is a possibility of loop formation, especially when applied to connection ports to other switches.
As a result, the switch is locked and its lights blink continuously and rapidly. Reboot is required to fix it.
