How to Change the Server IP Address
This guide provides a step-by-step explanation of how to change the IP address on CentOS Web Panel (CWP) servers. By following the steps below, you can securely and correctly change the IP address of your server.
1. Changing the Shared IP Address
First, go to CWP Settings and from the Edit Settings menu, replace the existing shared IP address with the new IP address you intend to use.
2. Updating the Hostname
Next, navigate to the Change Hostname section under CWP Settings and update the hostname with your new IP address's rDNS/PTR records. You can verify this information through reverse DNS lookup services.
3. Updating User Account IP Addresses
Go to User Accounts -> List Accounts and update the IP address for each account with the new IP address. Ensure that you also check the box for Update DNS Zone.
4. Updating DNS Nameserver IPs
Under DNS Functions, go to Edit Nameserver IPs and replace the NS1 and NS2 IP addresses with the new IP address.
5. Rebuilding the Apache Web Server
After completing these steps, it is recommended to rebuild your Apache web server to avoid potential issues. To do this, navigate to Apache Settings and select Rebuild and Recompile to reconfigure your web server.
6. Using Varnish Cache or Nginx Reverse Proxy
If you are using Varnish Cache or Nginx Reverse Proxy, go to Apache Settings, select Web Servers, choose your default web server, and click on Save & Rebuild Configuration.
7. Rebuilding the MailServer
If you are using a MailServer, you should also rebuild it to ensure proper configuration with the new IP address.
8. Rebooting the Server
After completing all steps, reboot your server to apply the changes.
By following this guide, you can safely and effectively change the IP address of your CentOS Web Panel server.
If you wish, you can rent the server service that suits your needs by checking the virtual server packages.
