You can use the following commands to switch from Linux DHCP to static IP.
ifconfig -a
sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces
esp160 = card name returned from ifconfig -a
auto esp160
iface esp160 inet static
address 185.100.100.101
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 185.100.100.1
dns-nameservers 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4
