Solution to Patroni FATAL: data directory *** has group or world access Error
If you see the following error in the log file while using the Patroni service with PostgreSQL, the reason is that the folder defined to data_dir has been given too much read/write and group privilege.
FATAL: data directory "/var/lib/pgsql/patroni" has group or world access
We use the following command to solve it.
chown postgres:postgres -R /var/lib/pgsql/patroni; chmod 700 -R /var/lib/pgsql/patroni
Do not forget to restart the Patroni service and check the status of the service with the commands below.
systemctl restart boss
systemctl status boss
