Preventing Pinging Your Server with IPTables
To prevent your server from being pinged, you can type one of the following two commands into iptables.
iptables -A INPUT -p icmp --icmp-type echo-request -j DROP;
iptables -A INPUT -p icmp --icmp-type echo-request -j DROP;
