If you receive this error after upgrading the MySQL service, you can find the solution by following the steps below.
We run the following command to start the MySQL service without reading the user table:
mysqld --skip-grant-tables
This process may take a long time depending on the number of databases and tables.
After the process is completed, we run the mysql_upgrade command.
mysql_upgrade
If an error is received, the MySQL service is killed with the following command.
killall mysqld
Finally, we restart the service.
service mysqld restart
